F&A for Higher Studies in Aachen

1. What are the courses offered by RWTH Aachen in English?

Public taught programs: 500€/sem + 198€ (semester ticket)

Private taught programs: 3700€/sem + 198€ (semester ticket)

3. What is the average Living Expense in Aachen?

Between 350€ to 500€ (Depending on ur lifestyle)

4. What are the requirements for Applying?

7200€ (Stand:2007, could be increased now)

8. Chances of getting Part time Jobs?

Unlike USA, it is very difficult to do part time job and Student assistantship ( German: Hiwi) together. Generally people do only hiwi here rather that part time job (like in cyber cafe, restaurant,..). It will be sufficient for living expense

9. How to find Hiwi?

You have to lookout for the advertisements in the univ buildings like Audimax, Karman Auditorium, and the notice board and website of the institutes. The website of the institute can be found after coming to Germany.

10. Possibility of Getting Schlorship?

The student with highest grade of that class will get scholarship for one or two semester. (For both private and public taught programs.)

11. Can you Evaluate my Profile?

It is not possible for anyone to evaluate anybody's profile, because nobody knows the exact admission criteria. So belive in yourself and apply to the universities where you want to pursue your masters.

12. How to find an accomodation?

For RWTH Private taught program students, you can ask the international office to help you in finding an Accomodation.

Join the Aisa Yahoo groups, in which people post their message if they want to give their room for Untermiete (Temporary basis) or permanently.

13. What all should I bring while coming from India?

14. How to reach Aachen?

The closest International airport is Düsseldorf, from there you can take a Train to Aachen, which will cost you around 13€ per person.

You can also take a flight to Frankfurt which is about 250 km from aachen. You can take an ICE train from frankfurt to köln and from köln to aachen a regional train. The cost of the ticket my vary from 29€ to 100€.

15. Are there Indian shops in aachen?

Yes! There is one indian shop and three srilankan shops in aachen. All are in Hansaman platz (near bushof).
